Tips to answer the question: "what are your biggest qualities?"
Posted at 28/04/2022
It’s one of the most common interview questions. Learn the recommendations from Fed Finance experts to formulate the ideal answer and achieve your dream job.
Don't improvise: think about it beforehand
Time is short, so it’s important that you do your homework and have prepared what you are going to say. It’s important to know beforehand which qualities best define you. With this question the recruiter analyses if the candidate is aware of what he/she is good at for the position. He also assesses the level of confidence and honesty.
Match the answer with the job description
In a job interview it is necessary that the qualities demonstrated are aligned with the profile of the position and the company. Relate your qualities to the functions you will perform.
We suggest you make a list of all the professional qualities you most emphasize in you and that may be related to the job you are applying for. Select the ones you think will fit in with what the recruiter is looking for. It’s important to bear in mind that not all the personal qualities you consider to be of most value may be of interest and relevance to the professional area you are applying for.

Give answers with examples, numbers, etc.
Be relevant, specific and give examples of times when you have used your qualities in a business context. Quantify your value. If you have numbers to back up your professional experience and achievements, highlight them. In corporate finance this is an asset.
The more accurate you are, the more realistic and engaging you become. Practice what you can say. You'll feel much more confident when you must respond. Tell a good story, be authentic. Share relevant experiences about your past jobs to illustrate strengths.
Don't overstimate yourself, but also don't undermine your value
Be the realest possible. The important thing is to be true to yourself and honest with the recruiter. Don't exaggerate. Be honest and humble. Try to avoid clichés and answer as naturally as possible, highlighting your skills and qualities as appropriate to the role.
